Updated Kindle Cover for Keyboard

A lot of people did not want to pay for the light, so Amazon came out with their updated Kindle cover for $20 less than their previous model.  If you don’t plan on reading a lot in the dark, or have a lamp near by, this a great option for you.  You can always buy a clip on light for around eight dollars if you end up needing a light as well.

These come in the same 7 colors as above - Black, Burnt Orange, Chocolate Brown, Steel Blue, Hot Pink, Apple Green, and Burgundy Red.  A nice leather cover for a low price, this is our go-to recommendation.

An upgraded edition of the traditional Kindle keyboard cover, this Kindle touch cover is built a bit differently.  There is an interior part of the cover that the Kindle Touch is placed into.  After you have the Kindle Touch securely placed into your cover, the power for the LED light is drawn from your Kindle Touch, so no batteries are required.

Kindle Fire Covers

The two most popular Kindle Fire covers are the Kindle Fire MicroShell Folio Cover by Marware (right) and the Kindle Fire Leather Cover by Marware (left).  They both are pictured on the right in two different positions.  Both come in four different colors, and are made specifically for the Kindle Fire.  They both offer reinforced corners for extra protection.

The difference between the two is one is a hard polycarbonate and the other is a leather cover.  However, they both can be tilted up in the picture, and the price difference is only five dollars, so you are just choosing based on the sole difference.

A few thoughts about buying a Kindle Cover

Concerning covers for kindles, I have researched, use, tried, talked to… everything under the sun to make sure the best ones are here.  Many of the covers look high quality, but aren’t that great.   If you are tight on money, try to find a cover for around 20-30 bucks.  Some of the covers with lights or made of real leather can cost 50-60 which is somewhat reasonable if you want a high quality one, but even then, they aren’t made of the best leather out there.  Keep that in mind when shopping for covers.

Why Kindle Covers?

If you’re shopping for some Kindle covers, whether as a gift or to stylize your Kindle, it is a great idea.  A lot of people buy them for the protection, or as a conversation starter by owning a unique one.  Personally, I like the eco-friendly leather Kindle cover because I like to do any small part I can to help the environment.  Kindle covers and cases are often made of out of leather, but the eco-friendly ones are put through a process that really reduces their chemical impact.
